Things are heating up!

I am really surprised by just how busy all three of our regional offices are here this week---especially with the nasty weather.  Most of our Realtors are working on not one or two deals, but multiples.  One of my Realtors has to be the Builders hero of the day as he is writing up not one, but two sales in the same neighborhood the same day!

What's changed? Nothing, our Realtors have realized that our market is GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD, and the buyers are realizing the great deals are going to evaporate if they don't snag them now.  Three of the new build deals I have seen were PHENOMENAL!  Closing costs, and special finanicing ON TOP of reduced prices!  WHAT A COUNTRY!

The resales are moving faster too!  I have seen three sales over the $320,000 price THIS WEEK, and there were ZERO for the last two months.  So as you can see the smart buyers are jumping in with BOTH feet.

Low rates, reduced pricese and consessions won't be here forever---don't be caught saying "I should have bought back in February".

Who's gonna help the Realtors?

Re: 'Federal grant will assist unemployed mortgage workers' (Feb. 22)

Dear Editor:

Don't you think the feds should do something to help the Realtors?

In most states they can't get assistance unless they escrow their license.

We could use some financial help also.

What a screwed-up country that can't figure out that we are in a recession because of the definition -- yet people are losing their homes and cars in record numbers!

Tell Arnold to make funds available for the real estate agents for retraining and living.

End paste.

If things are "heating up" why do you want the feds to help realtors?

I'm just blown away by the attitude of entitlement. If a realtor needs to retrain, I would suggest they spend their own dime - or get the Realtor association to spend theirs to support and assist their members in a time of need - why else are such fees collected?

Sometimes things are hard... and that's what rainy day funds are for. You may not make as much money working part time in a shop or a restaurant but at least such work is honest and helps pay the bills. There are plenty of federal tax credits out there for people funding their own education. It might be worth visiting irs.gov and reading the relevant publications rather than imploring editors to seek  help for realtors.

I'm sorry you miscosntrued my message.  Gov. Schwarznegger(sic) is giving money to Loan Officer and retraining them, and that is why the "what about the Realtors" post on Inman.  Why are "we" helping the LO's that helped drive the market situation.

So WHY would a loan officer be "entitled" and NOT a Realtor?
